The Program Coordinator will work directly with the Executive Director, Cooperative Developer, and Administrative Manager to prioritize the work outlined in the Job Description below, and will collaborate on fulfilling the daily operations of ACBA/ACBF. The ideal candidate will be native Spanish speaker with experience in paid or unpaid community organizing and be familiar with the cooperative sector and movement and/or solidarity economy work. They will be committed to supporting housing cooperatives and helping them prosper, as well as to supporting new co-op development across Greater Central Texas communities.
The candidate will also be comfortable working for a small nonprofit that relies on member dues, grants, and fundraising initiatives. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to maintain long-term projects and accomplish short-term tasks in a timely manner. This position requires frequent collaboration with the Executive Director, Cooperative Developer, Administrative Manager, volunteers, Board members, and member organizations. We hope to develop this position into a full-time position of 32 hours and to support professional growth within the organization and as part of developing an employee managed nonprofit.
Required Skills

Must be able to travel in Austin 3-4 days a week, available on weekends

Compensation, Benefits, and Other Details

Starting $25/hr, with at least 2% cost of living increase every year, potential for hourly increase based on funding and annual reviews.

2 weeks PTO and 2 weeks sick time, and 12 paid holidays

Usual work schedule: Mon-Thurs, 12-8 pm, some flexibility of hours/days and some weekends needed

Job Duties
Community Organizing
-
Plan and execute monthly events that foster social connection and information sharing
-
Plan, manage, execute and reflect on communication and door knocking strategy within a cooperative or neighborhood

Fulfill monthly data entry and reporting to track organizing progress in coordination with Administrative Manager
-
Organize and facilitate quarterly volunteer trainings and meetings
-
Call, text, email, conduct 1 on 1s with volunteers as needed, follow up to engage volunteers
-
Facilitate and support monthly ACBA/ACBF committees to encourage volunteer leadership

Create promotional materials to encourage community participation
-
Educate on the cooperative model - on the job training provided
Program Coordination

Monitor every step of a project or program for successful completion

Budget and track relevant expenses for activities and materials for each event planned

Identify best practices and procedures to inform future programs

Purchase necessary supplies for program setup and execution

Oversee daily operational, and logistical activities related to programs

Maintain consistent communication with external vendors and organizers
